AES Eletropaulo Telecom - the telecoms arm of Brazilian power company Eletropaulo - expects total revenues for 2009 to reach over 200mn reais (US$107mn), an increase of approximately 30% compared to the previous year, local press reported.
In Q3, the company recorded revenues of 51mn reais while revenues for the first nine months of the year totaled 151mn reais.
AES Eletropaulo Telecom operates in São Paulo, where it currently has 150 clients, and in Rio de Janeiro, where the company´s client base totals 75 companies.
At the end of 2009, the company decided to merge its commercial and operational structure in both cities. Prior to this merger, the company had independent structures in these cities.
The company has potential to expand to other cities, commercial director Gilberto Cardoso said without providing further details.
